Swimming Pool Blue

I’m a new kind of blue, I dream about you
The words to those old songs
have never been so true,
Just like the fool, I fell into the pool
Now I’m feeling swimming pool blue.
A startling shade, no need to be afraid
No mood indigo, no,
These blues have got a glow
Brighter than sorrow but blue, just the same
There’s no other color that can claim that name.

Swimming pool blue, that bittersweet hue,
Shockingly serene with just a hint of green,
A new kind of blue,
For me to live through,
Until my dreams come true.

A rosy dream of joy and wonder
A vision of a love that’s higher,
But now it seems I’m going under,
Diving and drowning
in dizzy desire.

Swimming pool blue, that bittersweet hue,
Shockingly serene with just a hint of green,
A new kind of blue,
For me to live through,
Until my dreams come true.
